Cambodia’s charming southern coast, once the retreat of French colonials and the Khmer elite, is slowly developing after a long period of neglect through the civil war years. A plethora of eco-attractions are on offer in this unspoiled, beautiful spot where the mountains meet the sea.
Bokor Mountain (one day) This wonderful excursion is only intermittently available at the moment due to a major development and refurbishment project at the top of the hill designed to restore the site to its former glory. Check with us at the time of booking to see what access is available. The abandoned French hill station resort of Bokor, which featured in the 2002 Matt Dillon film “City of Ghosts”, has been abandoned twice in its history - once when the Vietnamese overran the place in the late 1940's while fighting for independence against the French, and then again in 1972 when it was commandeered by the Khmer Rouge. The once gutted remains of the casino resort are at 1080m above sea level and offer fabulous views of both the Cambodian and Vietnamese coastlines. After a picnic lunch at the peak, take the short trek to the Popikvil waterfall before continuing back down the mountain and on to a sunset boat cruise on the Kampot river.	Add to trip
